This mummy lawn flamingo needed to happen. You know my obsession with flamingos and if you’ve been following this blog for a while now you know how I like to decorate them for various holidays.
Halloween was a no brainer with these mummy wrapped flamingos. If I had more time I’d make a whole Halloween squad (maybe for next year???), but these guys were a cynch to make and I didn’t spend a dime on them!
If you, like me, love your flamingos, I highly suggest you make this mummy lawn flamingo for Halloween. If you do be sure to tag me on Instagram so I can see your fleet of mummies! Now I just have to carve a couple pumpkins and my yard will be Halloween ready!

How to make a mummy lawn flamingo:
1. Start by painting your whole flamingo white. I just used a paintbrush to do this but feel free to whip out the spray paint for a quick application. Be sure to cover the beak and eyes so they don’t get painted. Let your flamingo dry before wrapping it up.
2. While your flamingo is drying you can take your white fabric/old sheet and start to tear it into strips. I just cut a small slit in my fabric and then ripped it all the way down to get a more frayed look. My strips were about 1.5-2 feet long.
3. Once your flamingo is completely dry you can start wrapping it in your fabric strips. I hot glued one end of the strip to the flamingo and then wrapped it around its body as many times as it would go and then hot glued that end to the fabric. Keep gluing and wrapping strips of fabric around your whole flamingo. I kept mine looking messy by adding strips on top of each other and letting some hang loose. Make sure to leave holes for the eyes and legs if you took them out to construct your flamingo.
That’s it! Now you’ve got yourself a Halloween ready flamingo! Be sure to share this Halloween DIY with anyone who would enjoy it and tag me in your pictures on Instagram if you make it!
